Meeting Information

Town of Phelps Board Meetings take place the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6 PM at the Phelps Town Hall.

The Annual Meeting is held the third Tuesday of April at 7 PM. Location of the Annual Meeting is Phelps School Commons at 4451 Old School Road.

Tax Information

Full payments and first installments are paid at the Town Clerk/Treasurer's Office at the Town Hall until January 31st.  Late payments and second installments are paid at the Vilas County Treasurer's Office.

Credit Card payments are accepted for real estate tax payments.  There is an additional fee.

Building Information

Fire numbers can be obtained from Vilas County. Please note that a fire number will not be issued until: (1) the driveway permit has been obtained from the town, and (2) an actual structure is being erected. Vilas County New Address Application

Application for a driveway permit must be filled out and returned to the Clerk/Treasurer with a payment of $30.

4351 DNR Vista Lane (off Strong Road) Winter Hours: The Saturday after Labor Day up to, but not including, the Saturday prior to Memorial Day – Saturday 9 am to 12 noon. Summer Hours: Saturday prior to Memorial Day thru Tuesday after Labor Day – Tuesdays 12 pm to 3 pm & Saturdays – 9 am to 2 pm

Voter Information

You can register to vote up until the Friday before the election at the Town Hall, at myvote.wi.gov, or on Election Day at the polling place.

You can request an absentee ballot on myvote.wi.gov or make a request to your municipal clerk in writing, electronically, or in person (starting 14 days prior to an election) using the Application for Absentee Ballot or statement containing all the information required on the form. Additional information regarding absentee voting can be found at myvote.wi.gov.
